Harvest Moon is a farm simulation role-playing video game series created by Yasuhiro Wada and produced by Victor Interactive Software (acquired by Marvelous Entertainment in 2003). English translation and distribution of the game is done by Natsume for North America and Rising Star Games for Europe. The object of the game is to maintain a farm over a period of time, tending the crops and livestock through the seasons, while befriending the nearby townsfolk and, in some games, getting married. The first game was Harvest Moon, released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996. Harvest Moon: Back to Nature is a video game in the farm simulation series Harvest Moon, developed by Victor Interactive Software. It is the only Harvest Moon game developed for the PlayStation, as well as the first Harvest Moon game for a non-Nintendo console. Characters from Harvest Moon 64 were transferred to be the characters in this game, although with new lifestyles, personalities, and relatives. A girl-oriented remake, Bokujo Monogatari Harvest Moon for Girl, was also developed, but until 2007 had not been released in English. In Bokujou Monogatari Harvest Moon for Girls the player controls a young girl, that took a cruise aboard a luxury ship. However, her life was in peril when the ship crashed onto the coastline. Fortunately, a young boy saved her life. Now she want to find him and show him how much she cares. There are five boys in the town. It could be any one of them. She's welcome to stay in the town, under one condition: She has to make a name for herself by tending to the run-down farm in town and making it the best there is. Can you step up to the challenge? It'll all be worth it when you find the guy of your dreams... Harvest Moon for Girls is based on Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. It was released only in Japan.
