The fate of Earth rests on the shoulders of the Science Special Search Party as they battle against alien invaders. However, when the super-being Ultraman crash-lands on their planet while pursuing his arch-nemesis Bemular, the tide of battle shifts in humanity's favour. With incredible strength and abilities, Ultraman must vanquish his foes before his power wanes, as he can only stay on Earth for a short time.

Based on the iconic television show from 1967, Ultraman brings the action-packed world to life in this Sega Mega Drive game. As the player takes on the role of Ultraman, they must defeat a range of monsters that appeared in the original series. The gameplay is reminiscent of a one-on-one fighting game, allowing players to punch, kick, and grapple their opponents before using special moves that must be charged. Depletion of an enemy's life bar is key to victory, with the devastating Specium Beam serving as the ultimate attack.

The clock is ticking in each stage, with a mere three minutes to complete the challenge. Players have three lives to succeed, but there are no continues to fall back on. As Ultraman battles through the stages, he must adapt to new and cunning enemies that seek to evade his most powerful attack.
