The Ptolemaic Army, a paramilitary syndicate, has stolen top-secret data from a research installation developing the next-gen of Metal Slug technology. To stop them and recover the stolen information, soldiers Marco, Tarma, Eri, and Fio are on a mission to take down the Ptolemaic Army.
Metal Slug 5 builds upon the success of previous games with new enemies, 3 returning vehicles, and 2 brand-new ones. Players can use the Big Rocket, Big Laser, and Big Shotgun from past games, as well as access to three new vehicles: Spider Metal Slug , Slug Gunner, and Slug Car.
One of the most notable additions is a sliding move. By pressing the B Button when ducking, players can slide across the ground for a short time, avoiding enemy attacks and gaining temporary protection. During this time, grenades cannot be thrown, but guns can be fired normally.
