Sengoku , released in 1993 for the Neo Geo AES, is a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up that throws you and a friend into a post-apocalyptic world where gangs threaten the cities. The story takes a twist when the evil Nobunaga triggers a time-warping scheme, bringing mythical warriors and creatures from Japan's sengoku period to invade the future.
The gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed as you navigate through city streets and spirit realms, fighting various enemies and collecting orbs to heal or gain new abilities. Defeating certain foes will prompt a message offering their aid, while collecting specific colored balls can grant you enhanced attacks or upgrades.
One unique feature of Sengoku is the ability to summon powerful warriors' spirits by pressing C at any time. These transformations grant new attacks and powers, allowing you to switch between an armor-clad wolf, a samurai, or a ninja with impressive backflip movements.
