Super Sidekicks 2: The World Championship is a continuation of Super Sidekicks, a 2D arcade football/soccer game. The player can choose from one of 48 teams, divided into six groups of eight. These groups are Europe A, Europe B, Americas/Oceania, Asia, South America, and Africa.
The gameplay is simple, typical for the genre. The player controls all footballers in the team, aiming to win the match against rivals. Three buttons are used: shot+low pass/sliding, high pass/tackle, and short pass/player change.
