Crime Patrol is a full-motion video rail shooter with real actors, produced by the makers of Mad Dog McCree . The game puts the player in the shoes of a police officer, who starts as a Rookie and has to work his way up to become a member of SWAT and eventually the Delta Force team. To do that, he has to complete missions, which involve taking down criminals in a variety of locations.

Crime Patrol features a storyline where the player character faces off against increasingly notorious criminals, from shoplifters to gangsters, drug lords, and terrorists. As the game progresses, the hero is teamed up with another police officer for each set of missions, adding an element of teamwork to the gameplay.

The gameplay itself is similar to other large live-action laser-gun games found in arcades - the player simply takes control of the gun (or mouse in the computer version) and takes down criminals. With its unique blend of action and adventure, Crime Patrol offers a thrilling experience for players.
