RACE BETTER
Make sure you press the ANALOG mode button on your DUALSHOCK® analog controller and that the red light is on for the best performance.
RACING
MAKING TURNS
Your Robot's ability to steer is affected by its speed; the faster the Robot races, the harder it is to steer. Larger Robots can be slightly more difficult to control.
If the Robot tries to turn a corner too fast for it to handle, the Robot will spin off the racetrack!
ACCELERATION
Your Robot's acceleration is affected by several factors: its weight and size, the surface of the track and how fast it can get up to full speed. Practice racing your Robot on one particular track so you can get used to its rate of acceleration.
Note: In Controller Configuration "B" let up on the accelerator to make tighter turns.
CRASHING
Racing isn't easy. At some point, you're probably going to run into another Robot, a hazard or race right off the track. Sometimes you may just slow down.
But if you manage to hit something head-on at high speed, you may come to a dead stop or even go bouncing across the track!

Items & Weapons
SPEED BOOST
Collect this power-up to give your Robot a quick rocket boost, leaving the other Robots to eat your smoke cloud.
MEGA HORN
Any Robots behind your Robot when you use this weapon will be caught in its sonic wave and will spin off the track. The Mega Horn lasts for 5 seconds.
SHIELD
The Shield encases your Robot in an impenetrable force field, keeping you safe from road hazards. There's nothing more satisfying than switching on a Shield and leading other Robots into hazards such as Speed Zaps!
MISSILES
These small Missiles target the nearest Robot in front of your Robot. When it hits, it causes the targeted Robot to spin slightly and slow down.
MINES
Mines, when dropped, create a gravity well (or Gravwell, an area of increased gravity that attracts and holds your Robot). Don't stray too close to a Gravwell...your Robot's motion slows or even stops.
SOLEX
Collect the Solex you find scattered around each track to add it to your Solex Meter. The more Solex you store, the higher the top speed of your Robot.
