Madagascar is a Playstation 2 action & adventure game where you control Marty the Zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, Gloria the hippo and the Penguins as they escape from the Central Park Zoo into the streets of New York and eventually into the San Diego zoo. The storyline follows the movie itself, with each chapter bringing you further into the story.
The gameplay involves completing goals in every chapter, which can be replayed to try to complete all goals. Each stage requires playing as a different character, some stages involving all characters. Characters have unique abilities, such as Alex's fruit-throwing and Gloria's hip checking.
