Pete Sampras Tennis is a tennis sim that lets you play singles and doubles exhibition games, knockout tournaments, or go on a world tour. You can choose to play as the world seed 1, Pete Sampras himself, or one of 29 other players.
The game's action is viewed from a traditional third-person viewpoint, with a tutorial mode available to help you master the forehand, lob, and drop shots. Several venues from around the world are playable on Hard, Grass, and Clay courts.
Pete Sampras Tennis was released for the Genesis in 1994 and featured innovative gameplay, including four-way multiplayer without the need for special adapters thanks to its J-Cart design. The Game Gear version also allowed for shared or linked play with up to four players.
