The game features co-op mode, which allows players to complete the entire game together. Some enemies are more vulnerable to certain weapon types, while others are less affected.

The remake also includes challenge rooms that must be completed without touching the floor once, using the bionic arm to swing around and navigate. These events are optional and time-based. Hacking has been reworked to include solving a 3D puzzle in a virtual environment, which can provide a hint for destroying bosses on the current level.
