Major League Baseball 2K6 is an update of its previous years' version, featuring roster updates as well as a three-year report of all the teams and players in the game. It also features a brand new movement system, realistic player crashes, and a morale system, where better players lead to improved team performance.
The game includes standard modes such as exhibition and season play, as well as a new feature allowing players to take on the role of an international team in the World Baseball Classic. Players can also challenge umpires if they feel a call has been botched, which can affect team morale.
The Xbox 360 version is virtually the same as previous generations, with improved graphics and extra dialogue and commentary. The game was endorsed by Derek Jeter, who appeared on the cover of all console and handheld releases.
Each console version allows for online play, with the ability to download a friend's profile using V.I.P., allowing players to view stats and results from their own games, gaining an advantage in online matches.
