The gameplay involves taking control of a team and guiding it through its matches on a season by season basis. The game features updated graphics and rosters, as well as new modes like "Be a Pro". In this mode, you play match by match, with your performance being critiqued after each game. Success can lead to becoming the captain of your team or even getting called up for your country, while poor performances can result in fewer games and eventually losing your job.

Multiplayer options are available, both via infrastructure or ad hoc mode, allowing you to play against friends either in a standard team match or in the new Be a Pro Mode.
