Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi , a PSP action game, is based on the Hakuoki series of visual novels. The story follows Chizuru, who can pursue six different men as her love interest, including the five captains of the Shinsengumi (Hijikata, Saito, Okita, Heisuke, and Harada) and Kazama, Hijikata's rival.
The game features three gameplay modes: Shinsengumi Memorial, which lets you play a portion of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom from one of Chizuru's love interests' perspective; Shinsengumi Chronicle, offering an alternate "what if" story created for the game; and Skirmish Mode, allowing you to revisit completed stages to improve your score or obtain higher scores.
Other features include cutscenes from Hakuōki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~ anime series and Fury Mode, which kicks in when your health is fully depleted, causing chaos on the battlefield.
