Point Blank is a light gun game where players shoot targets in various stages. The PlayStation version uses the G-Con gun for action similar to Time Crisis, also by Namco.

The game has a cartoon theme and is suitable for all ages due to its non-violent nature. Each stage has a different objective explained at the start of each stage. These vary from simple target shooting, avoiding bombs, shooting cardboard villains while avoiding civilians, protecting iconic characters like Dr.Don and Dr. Dan, and numerous other challenges such as the Galaxian stage where the lightgun is used to shoot aliens.

The stages are presented in groups of 4, allowing players to choose their order. Losing a life-heart occurs when incorrect targets or bombs are shot, or failing to complete a mission within the time limit.

Point Blank offers more than just the arcade game's conversion. It also includes a new Quest mode, Party Play system, and additional features.
