NFL Street 2 is the second game in EA's arcade football series. Players try to become the world's best urban footballer by conquering other teams using several gravity-defying tricks like up-the-wall passes, off-the-wall catches, and highlight-reel wall jukes.
The gameplay focuses on arcade-style action with a small number of players, where the goal is to outscore your opponents. The addition of walls allows for new types of plays, such as run-up passes and receptions. You can also aim for posters and hotspots to earn bonuses.
There are twelve arenas to compete in (2 unlockable) and the players are licensed from the 2004 NFL rosters. Multiplayer is available on the Xbox version, while single-player modes include NFL Challenge , where you have 150 days to build a team to take on a squad of legends. You'll need to sharpen specific skills to reach the top or beat sufficient teams.
Another mode is Owning the City , where you create a new character and must win all street games in the city. New players need to be recruited from pick-up games. The final team to beat consists of rapper Xzibit and a team of NFL stars. Characters created in this mode can be imported into NFL Challenge or Madden NFL 06 .
The PSP version is a faithful port with some cut scenes removed, and it adds three new street modes for Wi-Fi multiplayer: Street Slalom, Style Point Challenge, and Style Standoff. Up to four players can play on a single PSP in Party Play game modes like the 2 Minute Challenge and Jump Ball Challenge.
