Tetris is a puzzle game for the Game Boy . The story follows Professor Kiva, who needs help getting to the top of his ladder in order to unlock the door. To aid him on his quest, players must clear blocks away by fitting them together perfectly.

Tetris gameplay involves rotating and arranging falling blocks called Tetriminos in order to create solid horizontal lines without gaps. Each line cleared will increase the player's score. The game continues until no more moves are possible, at which point the player must start a new level with a randomly generated set of Tetriminos.

Tetris offers various modes including Classic mode, Puzzle mode, Versus mode, and Edit mode. Players can challenge others in Versus mode or create their own custom levels using the Game Boy's built-in editing capabilities.
