Ultimate Soccer is a soccer game featuring 64 international teams, each with unique attributes for running, ball control, and strength. The game offers five game modes: friendly, penalty shootout, tournament, playoff, and league. However, the lack of password or built-in battery means players must complete each mode in one sitting.
The gameplay can be customized by adjusting key aspects of the physics engine, such as wind strength and direction, ball weight, tightness of ball control, and player speed and momentum. A five-a-side mode is also included, where the ball is never out of play. With its adjustable physics, the game allows for a variety of playmaking styles, from short passes to long-range shots.
The game's graphics are similar to EA's Madden NFL series, with pseudo-3D effects that allow the camera angle to be adjusted for a better view.
Ultimate Soccer was released in 1993 on the Sega Game Gear console.
