Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs is a third-person action-adventure game set during the Cold War. The story follows a scenario where the Soviets and Americans engage in a secret war on the moon, with you playing as a commander who must lead your fleets against their forces.

The gameplay involves piloting a hover tank and battling against enemy tanks and other foes, while also commanding fleets of machines in strategy mode. In addition to regular missions, Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs includes additional story-based missions that continue where the PC version left off.
