The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine and is based on the comic books. Everyone becomes a "Walker" after death, and the series follows people trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies.
Besides an intro portion, the story takes place over a year after the events of the first game. The player takes the role of Clementine, who must navigate her way through different situations while dealing with the consequences of her actions. Gameplay-wise, Clementine is more often on the defensive compared to Lee in the previous game.
Choices play a significant role in the game, with many decisions made in each episode influencing how the remainder of the game plays out. These choices can have big or small consequences, such as the death or survival of other characters. The player must make these decisions within a time limit, and some decisions even affect the outcome when a savegame is imported.
The game allows Clementine to explore certain areas, interact with items or people, and reach her next goal. This involves a mix of direct character movement and using a cursor to choose an item to interact with. However, puzzle-solving has been almost completely removed from the game; instead, the player primarily interacts with needed items and persons.
The PS4 version was released on October 31, 2014, as a single package containing all five episodes. Later versions of the game were released separately or as DLC for other platforms. The included episodes are:
Episode 1: All That Remains
Episode 2: A House Divided
Episode 4: Amid the Ruins
