The gold packs were made available on a weekly basis following the launch, one for each of the following 24 weeks. Each pack contains 12 additional items, such as stadiums, managers, staff, balls, kits, healing, badges, contracts, players with a rating of 75 or up, as well as a single rare item per pack. Rare items include coveted players, enhanced attributes and longer contracts.

The game also includes a robust FIFA Ultimate Team mode, where players can build and manage their own team using virtual players and items earned through gameplay or purchased with in-game currency. The ultimate team mode is highly addictive, allowing players to compete against other teams and climb the rankings.
