Final Fantasy Chronicles is a collection of two role-playing games that brings back memories for fans of the series. The package includes Chrono Trigger , an action RPG developed by Square (now Square Enix), and Final Fantasy IV , a classic RPG with a deep story and engaging gameplay.
The most notable change in this release is the updated version of Final Fantasy IV . The game's difficulty level has been increased to match the original Japanese version, making it more challenging for players. Additionally, the script has been re-translated to include omitted dialogues from the Western release, and new CG movies have been added at the beginning and end of the game.
Chrono Trigger , on the other hand, underwent less changes. The gameplay and story remain intact, but several anime-style movies have been included to enhance the experience. Players can also enjoy extra features such as a "movie theater" mode that allows them to watch the game's movies and listen to its soundtrack, as well as unlockable bestiary, dungeon maps, and art gallery.
Final Fantasy Chronicles was released on June 29, 2001, for the PlayStation console.
