Battletoads follows the story of three anthropomorphic toads who are kidnapped by the Dark Queen and must navigate 13 levels to rescue their friends. The toads are on a mission to fight against the queen's minions and ultimately face off against the queen herself.
The gameplay in Battletoads is fast-paced and action-packed, with a mix of side-scrolling beat-em-ups, vertical drops, and other levels that require the player to use different skills. The game features mini-bosses and bosses at the end of each area, adding an extra layer of challenge and excitement.
