The United States' military response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in February 1991 featured a range of units, including mobile armor. The M1 Abrams tank division was deployed on various missions to destroy marked Iraqi targets.

Super Battletank: War in the Gulf is a first-person tank simulation where players control a M1 Abrams tank. The game's controls allow for acceleration and deceleration, tank trajectory rotation, cannon movement, weapon firing, and map checking. The objective is to locate enemy targets, align them with the Abrams cannon, and fire until destroyed. Each mission covers large areas of land, requiring the player to use the real-time map to navigate towards target locations. The M1 Abrams tank also features two special weapons: a laser for increased firepower and a smoke screen for escape.
