Side Arms is a horizontally scrolling shoot ‘em up game where you control Lieutenant Henry, armed with crude weaponry and protective jump-suits. As a second player, Sergeant Sanders can also be controlled in some versions. The goal is to save the earth from Bozon’s mercenary invaders. You must first reach Bozon's territories, then eliminate its forces hiding in caverns and underground seas, before destroying the main invasion ship.
Gameplay involves reaching Bozon's territories, then wiping out its hidden forces and eventually destroying the main invasion ship. Along the way, you can collect extra weapons with similar tokens to other Capcom titles like 1943. Most weapons can be shot in either direction, giving you more flexibility when launching attacks.
