Othello (formerly known as REICH ) is a game based on the popular board game. Players compete to fill their side of the game board with discs of their color. On each turn, a player places a disc on the board, trapping their opponent's discs between two of their own. When the discs are flipped over, they change color, giving the player more discs. The game ends when the board is filled or time runs out. The player with the most discs on their side wins.
The gameplay involves strategic placement of discs to trap your opponent's pieces and create a winning line. You can play against another human or face the computer in a challenge of wits. With its simple yet engaging gameplay, Othello is a great example of an early Atari 2600 game.
Othello was released on the Atari 2600 in 1978 . It is classified as an Action & Adventure game. Two players can compete against each other, or one player can take on the computer in a test of skill.
