Samurai Shodown III follows the story of the 12 elite samurai and ninja as they face a new threat in the form of demon Zankuro, who has been brutally slaughtering innocents. However, Zankuro's actions are not without mercy, as he vows to never spill innocent blood again, instead targeting those who live by the way of the sword.
Gameplay in Samurai Shodown III is action-packed and challenging, with each character having two unique techniques: "Slash" and "Bust". The "Slash" techniques are the original moves of most characters, while the "Bust" techniques are often darker versions of these same moves. Players must master both types to defeat their opponents effectively.
