The Daytona USA port for the Sega Saturn brings the excitement of the original arcade game home. The story revolves around three detailed tracks that challenge players to find the perfect racing line, with arcade-style driving physics that make every lap a thrilling experience.
The gameplay is just as engaging, with 40 cars competing in the Easy race, now named 3-7 Speedway. A new mode has been added, allowing players to tackle the three tracks without the time limit, and with optional mirror mode, bonus cars, and varying track lengths. However, the reduced detail and frame rate on the Saturn and personal computers take away from the overall experience.
The game lacks multiplayer options compared to the arcade version, which allowed for intense head-to-head racing with up to eight players. Despite these limitations, Daytona USA remains an enjoyable racing experience that captures the spirit of the original arcade game.
