Die Hard Arcade is a 3D beat 'em up game based on the first Die Hard movie. One or two players work their way up and down a skyscraper in attempting to rescue the President's kidnapped daughter.
The gameplay focuses on simple controls, allowing players to use punch, kick, and jump movements, as well as movement through the levels. Many weapons are available, ranging from knives and broken bottles to machine guns and rocket launchers. Players can also pick up and use objects like chairs, aerosol, and lighter combos, and even a grandfather clock as weapons.
Throughout the game, reaction tests are scattered throughout the levels, requiring players to press a button quickly, usually punch, kick, or jump. Failure often results in an extra fight with little reward. The final stages culminate in a showdown with the mastermind on the roof of the skyscraper. An old Sega arcade game, Deep Scan , is also included, allowing players to earn extra credits for the main game.
