Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls is a fighting game for the Super Nintendo console. The story follows the two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, as they are framed for a crime they did not commit.
The gameplay involves one-on-one combat between Billy and Jimmy Lee against various enemies, including other double dragon warriors, and even the main villain. The players will have to use their wits and fighting skills to defeat their opponents and uncover the truth behind the conspiracy that has framed them.

How to Play
Game Modes Overview
There are four fight modes and two administrative modes available from the Dragon Dojo. Selecting any of the four fight modes will take you directly to the Character Selection screen.
•
Tournament: One-player mode against computer-selected opponents.
•
VS Battle: Two-player competitive mode.
•
Quest Mode: One-player story-driven mode.
•
Battle Demo: Watch computer-controlled fights.
•
Dossiers: Access the dossier files.
•
Options: Customize your gameplay settings.
Adjusting Character Attributes
Each character has 9 total points of attributes that can be distributed to your liking.
•
Scroll up or down using the Control Pad.
•
Press A, R, or X to increase an attribute.
•
Press B, L, or Y to decrease an attribute.
Note that when a special attribute reaches zero, it will display "OFF". The normal setting for attributes is 3. Exiting the attributes screen in VS Battle or Battle Demo mode will send you to the Locations screen.
Selecting Fight Arenas
There are 12 fight arenas in Metro City. Scroll with the Control Pad to the location of your choice and select it with any button. The location is selected by the first player to push the Start Button.
You can freely select your arena only in VS Battle or Battle Demo modes. In Tournament mode, the computer randomly selects the location and adversary. In Quest mode, the computer selects the location and adversary depending on which character you have selected.

Tournament Mode
The game defaults to Tournament mode, which allows one player to fight all the various opponents in different locations. You pick your character and attributes, and the computer selects your adversary and location.
There will be 12 fights of 2-5 rounds each. Ties in the 5th round go to the computer adversary. If you win, you proceed to the next computer-selected opponent and location.
Once you have beaten all 12 opponents (including your evil twin), you will view the High Score screen.
Quest Mode
Selecting Quest allows one player to fight as Billy, Jimmy, or one of eight villains in one of two storyline series of fights. You pick your character and attributes, and the computer selects your adversary and location based on the story.
There will be 12 fights of 2-5 rounds each, with ties in the 5th round going to the computer. Beating all 12 opponents allows you to view the High Score screen.
VS Battle Mode
VS Battle mode is designed for two players. If you are playing in Tournament or Quest mode and a second player joins in, the game automatically switches to VS Battle mode.
In this mode, players pick their characters (both players can choose the same character), customize their attributes, and select one of the 12 locations for the fight.
There will be unlimited fights of 2-5 rounds each, with up to 3 tie rounds permitted. If you want to exit the action, press Select to bring up the Continue / Reset screen.
Battle Demo Mode
Battle Demo mode allows you to pick two of 10 fighters and one of 12 locations to view a computer-controlled fight.
There is no human control of the fighters in this mode. At the end of the fight, you will return to the Title Screen.
Round and Match Results
At the end of each round in any fight mode, a brief message will appear announcing the winner of the bout, followed by a listing of the remaining fight time. A screen will also appear to congratulate the winner or condemn the loser.
In VS Battle mode, once the players have completed the full course of fights, the Battle Stats screen will appear to summarize the action. This screen displays:

Enemies & Characters
BILLY LEE
The firstborn son of the union between the Virginia Lee family and Chinese Lee clan who is interested in New Age studies. He can sing, likes to line dance, and fights using the Art of the Dragon style.
JIMMY LEE
The twin brother of Billy who has a run-a-way mouth and spends a lot of time in front of the mirror. He fights using the Shadow Dragon style.
BLADE
A cruel and heartless fighter who received his first prosthetic implants during the war and had his cardiac system totally removed. He is capable of inflicting great pain without conscience.
COUNTDOWN
A cyborg assembled during the last night of Mardi Gras who was a factory reject from the Baton Rouge Bionics Lab. He plays the accordion with a zydeco band in his spare time.
BONES
Formerly a valet to King Sargon II, Bones was entombed with his master and rattles when he walks. The question of whether or not he is actually alive has never been fully answered.
DOMINIQUE
Born at a time when aggressive women were feared in the fashion world, she eventually came to appreciate fleece and spandex togs. She is not someone you would take home to meet your parents.
ICEPICK
A cool dude with an average body temperature of 30° who longs for a normal relationship but is one of a kind. He makes the best homemade ice cream in the Shadow World and is an avid skier.
SEKKA
A fighter who developed skin so thick it evolved into armor plating, and acquired several bionic prostheses due to martial arts injuries. She does her own hair and fights using the Re-Boot Tsu style.
JAWBREAKER
Hailing from the Mid-West, he survived for years on the Great Plains and is able to eat anything, especially trailer hitches and bungee cords.
SHADOW MASTER
An evil incarnate who has wreaked havoc throughout the ages and was personally responsible for the Black Plague, both World Wars, and the USA health care crisis. His ability to pervert intelligent beings makes him clearly dangerous.
SICKLE
Driven by a lifelong bitterness and general loathing of untidy human hair follicles, he developed a set of particularly nasty weapons for which he is named. He enjoys long walks in the rain and sharpening his sickles.
TRIGGER HAPPY
A large hulk fascinated with pyrotechnics and projectiles of all kinds who is surprisingly fond of knitting. His prized possession is a gold-plated nail gun awarded by the Metro City Carpenter's Union.
