Skweek is a puzzle game where you play as a member of the Skweeks, a peaceful people who must clean their land after it was ruined by Pitark. The goal is to travel through 99 continents, cleaning each one in sequence. Your journey begins after Pitark's death, giving you the chance to restore your homeland.
Gameplay involves controlling Skweek , a creature that can move in four compass directions using the joystick. Armed with a simple weapon, Skweek 's shots rebound around before hitting Pitark's minions, the Schnoreuls, which are instantly fatal upon contact.
As you navigate through the levels, you'll encounter arrows that force you to move in a particular direction, blockades to avoid, bomb squares that blow up surrounding tiles but give you time to escape, and shortcut squares that allow you to teleport to another square by pushing the joystick in its direction.
