Blade is a 3D action & adventure game that tells the story of a powerful sword, known as Soul Edge, which has the power to corrupt even the strongest warriors. The game takes place in various parts of the world, including America, Europe, and Japan, where different fighters gather to claim the sword.
The gameplay involves fighting with a variety of colorful characters, each with their own unique weapons and styles. There are twelve playable fighters, ten standard, two hidden, plus additional costumes for a few fighters. The game features side steps, allowing players to move around the battlefield in 3D.
Blade includes various modes, such as traditional team battles, survival, and time attack modes, in addition to a story mode that provides more detail about each character. The story is presented in an ancient book format and allows players to unlock extra weapons for their characters. These weapons can vary in length, stats, and durability, adding to the game's options.
